In this beginners course, learn to play the piano from an expert teacher. Each session will begin with a brief introduction to songs and basic piano concepts, and then you will have time to practice. You will have an individual keyboard in the music laboratory.
Materials: Optional purchase of Alfred's Adult All-In-One Course Level One text book, approximately $20.
Learn to use Photoshop Elements to bring your images to a whole new level for printing or web display. This powerful, yet simple and inexpensive image editing software can be used for a wide range of tasks resulting in transforming your photos into images that "sing". Information on monitor calibration and the best photo printing labs also will be included. Students should be familiar with use of computers and Windows or Macintosh operating systems.Materials: Each student should have an external flash drive (2GB or larger) in order to store computer files. Bring it to class for the first session.

This course is for students who are aware of basic sewing skills, can sew a straight seam, and are familiar with using a rotary cutter. In this class you will focus on accurate seams, straight cuts and accurate piecing. You will follow a pattern written by Elanor Burns. During the first class you will learn about color choices and choose your fabrics. You will work on your own project at your own pace. At the end of the course you will leave with a complete lap size quilt approximately 45 X 57 inches. Class is limited to 12 students. Course supplies (including sewing machines and quilting tools) are included for class use. At the first class, you will purchase fabrics for the top and bottom and batting (price will vary).
Writing doesn't have to be agony. We'll explore how to move your prose from fair to good and good to great. We read and talk about great writing and tackle a writing project or two. The class usually produces some laughter and tears too (not from taking a critical beating). This is the 10th year of Zen class. Class is limited to 12 students.
