FITNESS AND HEALTH: GENTLE MAT PILATES

Gentle Mat Pilates is a blend of exercises to increase core strength, flexibility, breath control, and correct alignment to improve balance and posture.  Mat Pilates is practiced by people of all ages.  Each class is an hour of exercise around core strength, balance, gentle movement, and relaxation.  Those taking this class should be able to get up and down from the floor safely. Wear loose, comfortable clothing; bring a Yoga/exercise mat and water bottle.

FITNESS AND HEALTH: SELF DEFENSE-PURPOSE AND PRACTICE

This defense class is unique in that it includes the three P's of self defense: philosophical, psychological, and physical. It is a combination of understanding how  persons should be treated, evaluating situations, and carrying out a physical defense if the situation requires it.You will learn about  the ehtical justification for self defense, the psychological attitutdes and techniques required, and finally, how to perform some of those techniques.

FITNESS AND HEALTH: TAI CHI - SECTION 2
Tai Chi is a form of martial arts in which slow, gentle movements are made in the air. These movements, originally fighting moves, are most commonly practiced by older people who wish to improve their balance, coordination, joint mobility, and blood circulation. Tai Chi also may help to keep the mind active while reducing stress. The class may be repeated so that students can learn more advanced movements and forms. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
