FITNESS AND HEALTH: GENTLE MAT PILATES

Gentle Mat Pilates is a blend of exercises to increase core strength, flexibility, and breath control and will focus on body alignment to improve balance and posture. Those taking this class should be able to get up and down from the floor safely.

Materials needed: Yoga/exercise mat. 

This class will be offered via Zoom and any handouts emailed to all participants. All you have to do is log on at the appointed date and time and make sure the speakers on your computer work. A web camera is not needed, although we'd love to see smiling faces! You'll be able to see the instructor and her screen, and ask questions verbally, or type them into a chat box. You must register with a valid email address as login instructions and any supplemental material will be emailed there.

A gentle yoga class designed to promote increased mobility, flexibility, and balance. Yoga is practiced by people of all ages. Each class is an hour of relaxation and gentle movement. Tai Chi is a form of martial arts in which slow, gentle movements are made in the air. These movements, originally fighting moves, are most commonly practiced by older people who wish to improve their balance, coordination, joint mobility, and blood circulation. Tai Chi also may help to keep the mind active while reducing stress. The class may be repeated so that students can learn more advanced movements and forms. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

This class will be offered via Zoom and any handouts emailed to all participants. All you have to do is log on at the appointed date and time and make sure the speakers on your device work. Zoom is a user-friendly conferencing platform, with the ability to create a live classroom experience.

GOLF: BEGINNING GOLF

Come out and enjoy a fun, new and exciting way to learn the game of golf. Learn the fundamentals of the game with a proper introduction to chipping, pitching and putting.  Also, experience on-course play to put your new skills to the test in a game-situational atmosphere. You will come away from this class with great knowledge and understanding of all short game shot types through lots of hands-on practice.

MASSAGE: HAND REFLEXOLOGY

Based in ancient traditions, Reflexology is a non-invasive way to engage the body’s healing capacity and aid in relaxation and stress relief. According to the principles of reflexology, the entire body can be affected by applying pressure and massage to the hands and feet. In this class, you will learn the theories of reflexology, the locations of reflex points on the hands, the precautions and benefits of reflexology, and you will practice relaxing the hands and locating reflexology points. During class, you will practice reflexology on your own hands. Please have lotion or oil and a hand towel available.
