HANDICRAFT: BEGINNING CROCHET

Description

Learn how to crochet in a comfortable, relaxing, group environment. You will learn correct terminology and practice this needle working art that will keep your hands active.

Topics that will be covered:

  • Introduction
  • Explanation of Yarn & Needles
  • Beginning chain
  • single crochet stitch
  • double crochet stitch
  • half double crochet stitch
  • triple crochet stitch
  • combining stitches
  • decreasing
  • increasing
  • swatches and gauges
  • make a project such as a scarf/hat

Materials: 2 Skeins of smooth medium weight yarn, #4 on the label, with acrylic (No dark colors, no fuzzy yarn). Crochet hook H, I or J, scissors, darning/yarn needle, markers (optional, but helpful). 

 

THIS IS AN ON-LINE CLASSYou will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone for video conferencing. Classes will be conducted on-line live via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. About a week before the course begins, you will receive an email with log-in instructions for the Zoom 'meeting room.' Zoom is a user-friendly conferencing platform, with the ability to create a live classroom experience.
