ART: A SHORT COURSE IN DRAWING

Description

This is a course, friendly to all levels of students, that explores drawing in various ways-structure, rhythm, feelings, and media control. The teacher will lecture, demonstrate, and critique student work. Students will draw from nature, learn how to use media, employ systems, and use their own imagination to create moving and strong images, even without previous experience.

Materials: You will work with soft (4B) pencils, and woodless graphite pencils (4B or 6B), a grey kneaded eraser, white magic eraser and a Bristol board (14x17 or larger).

THIS IS AN ON-LINE CLASS. You will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone for video conferencing. Classes will be conducted on-line live via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. About a week before the course begins, you will receive an email with log-in instructions for the Zoom 'meeting room.' Zoom is a user-friendly conferencing platform, with the ability to create a live classroom experience.
